Exceptional pair of Scandinavian Brutalist–Postmodern candleholders, each combining a sculptural hand-forged iron base with a thick, cast ice-glass insert featuring controlled bubbles and the irregular clarity typical of mid- to late-century studio glass.
The heavy, architectural iron forms balance industrial weight with elegant geometry—hallmarks of Brutalist craftsmanship that would later influence the Postmodern movement of the 1970s and 1980s. The contrast of dark iron and luminous glass creates a sculptural tension that feels both vintage and contemporary.
Each stands approximately 10½ inches tall, with the glass inserts measuring about 4 inches high and 2⅛ inches square. The metal bases have a warm reddish-brown patina that complements the cool translucence of the glass.
Likely Swedish or Finnish studio work from the Erik Höglund / Boda era, blending modernist restraint with the expressive materiality of later Postmodern design.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minor surface wear on metal consistent with age; glass inserts are clear and free of chips or cracks.
