Renowned for his unique printmaking techniques inspired by shapes, mythology, and medieval art form textures, Tonkin delivers a vibrant, jewel-toned scene capturing an intimate musical performance.

Roy Tonkin is widely known for creating carborundum etchings. This technique involves applying a paste mixed with carborundum (a gritty abrasive material) onto a plate to create distinct textured, raised surfaces.

The Final Texture: Because of this method, the final artwork carries a uniquely embossed, three-dimensional look rather than a traditional flat ink appearance.

Hand-signed by the artist in pencil along the bottom margin, this highly collectible print is numbered 28 out of a limited edition run of 350. Ready to hang. See less
