A bronze sculpture portrait bust of former NYC mayor Jimmy Walker sitting on a dark marble base in a suit jacket, collared shirt and tie with swept-back hair and a calm, slightly upturned gaze. The bronze has a dark brown finish with touches of green verdigris on the shoulders and rest on a rectangular dark marble base with white and reddish veining. Signed on the back by the artist Enoch-Henryk Glicenstein: “Enrico Glicenstein, City Hall New York, 1929. Amer. Art FDRY, NY.”
Jimmy Walker was an American attorney, lyricist and Tammany Hall politician who served as the 98th mayor of New York City from 1926 until his resignation in 1932. A romanticized version of Walker's tenure as mayor was presented in a 1957 Bob Hope film.
