An impressive, large-scale vintage patinated bronze sculpture of the "Flying Mercury" (Hermes) 30 inches tall.
This piece is a magnificent casting after the iconic Renaissance masterpiece originally created by Giambologna (Giovanni da Bologna).
The substantial statue features the Roman messenger god in a dynamic pose, balancing on a gust of wind personified by the face of Zephyr (the west wind).
Mercury is depicted with his traditional winged petasos (helmet), winged ankles, and holds his iconic caduceus staff high.
The sculpture showcases exceptional anatomical detail and fluid movement, offering a striking profile from every angle.
The bronze displays a rich, deep brown patina with subtle warm undertones. It stands securely on a heavy, multi-tiered 7-inch polished black marble plinth, which features a decorative classical bronze relief band wrapping around the center column.
This substantial, gallery-sized sculpture makes an exceptional focal point for a grand entryway, executive desk, library, or formal living space.
