Inspired by 18th-century French couverture muette, or “mute books,” these reproductions pay homage to books with blank covers associated with the French Revolution era.

Each book is entirely crafted and bound by hand, featuring naturally stained linen bindings, simple cover boards, distressed historical-style labels, and hand-torn paper. The pages are individually cut using water and sun-dried to recreate the texture and appearance of genuine antique books.

The pages are blank, with each book varying in page count. The five books are bundled together with rustic twine, creating a charming decorative accent for bookshelves, coffee tables, consoles, libraries, and collected interiors.

Their soft white coloring and authentic aged appearance complement French Country, Belgian, Traditional, Rustic, and Cottagecore interiors.

Country of manufacture is unknown. Restoration Hardware is a U.S.-based company, but the original manufacturing location has not been verified. See less
