A set of two small forks with a leather holster, designed by Carl Auböck and executed by Werkstätte Carl Auböck, Vienna. Originally conceived in the 1930s, this model represents one of Auböck's early designs.; we think the present set was manufactured in the 1950s. Originally designed as corn cob skewers or holders—a wonderfully practical idea—these small forks can also be used in a variety of ways at the dining table, for example for serving fruit, cheese, and other small delicacies. The forks are crafted from solid brass with a nickel-plated finish and feature handles, made of cow horn. The set is housed in its original saddle-stitched leather holster, executed in black leather. Very good condition, with normal signs of wear.
Measurements: width: 4.25“, height 3“, the forks are 3“ long. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
