Firouz FarmanFarmaian’s Talisman Tattoos elevate his post-tribal artworks into meditative rugs, offering a transformative interpretation of powerful designs rooted in ceremonial sacred Amazigh tattoo artistry. Elements of Tribal Semiology serve as a central source of inspiration, providing an entry point into an archaeology of memory and future, reaching into the rich and pagan wisdom of sacred tribal archaic cosmogonies. This exploration particularly highlights connections between Iran, North Africa, and Central Asia.
