Combining naturalistic detail with a distinctly decorative silhouette, this striking piece brings together the charm of wildlife-inspired design and the glamour of hollywood regency.

the beautifully rendered bird is the focal point, with delicately graduated plumage in pale yellow, soft green, olive, black, white and lilac-blue, accented by a vivid red-orange beak. Its finely detailed feathers, elegant elongated neck and expressive features give the porcelain figure an almost lifelike quality.

the decorative plaque on the wooden base bears the inscription “branta bernicla”, the scientific name of the brent goose. This inscription adds an intriguing natural-history detail to the piece.

behind the bird, a delicate composition of brass leaves and flowers rises along the central lamp stem, creating a striking contrast between the warm metallic finish and the subtle colours of the glazed porcelain. The composition is set on a dark wooden plinth with an ornamental gold-tone base, completing the lamp’s sophisticated, sculptural appearance.

a generously proportioned cream fabric lampshade with subtle brown edging softens the overall design and provides a warm, atmospheric glow when illuminated.

attributed to giulia mangani, associated with the renowned florentine house of decorative porcelain, this distinctive lamp reflects the opulent, nature-inspired aesthetic of italian decorative lighting from the period. The attribution remains tentative in the absence of definitive maker’s marks or supporting documentation.

with its elegant bird figure, intricate brass ornamentation and richly decorative composition, this lamp would make an eye-catching statement in an eclectic interior, a refined hollywood regency setting or a contemporary space that embraces individual decorative pieces.

a matching companion lamp featuring a male duck is also available, offering the opportunity to acquire a particularly charming pair.
