Post-impressionist/ English landscape oil painting on board by Fred Cuming (1930-2022).
Cuming was celebrated for his ability to capture fleeting moments of light, mood and weather rather than pure realistic representation.
The painting portrays a rolling green hillside under a heavy muted sky reflecting over a calm body of water in the foreground. His signature, lowercase "Cuming" can be seen in its typical location in the bottom left corner of the painting.
Housed in its original mid-century style wooden frame and set within a coarse-weave linen slip which was common for framing British modern art from the 1960s through the 1980s.
Measurements are of the frame.
