Model “Gronda” is conceived as an architectural intervention rather than a simple mirror composition. The system consists of nine vertical modules: seven mirrored panels and two integrated light elements featuring rectangular white plastic diffusers illuminated across the entire front surface. When installed in sequence, the modules create a striking rhythmic façade of reflection and light, transforming the wall into a structured, dynamic surface.

Each module is framed in black plastic, emphasizing the rigorous linear geometry typical of Italian design experimentation of the 1970s. A distinctive functional detail defines the mirrored panels: a concealed retractable hook integrated into the surface, allowing the mirror to function discreetly as a coat hanger. This intelligent integration of utility and minimal form reflects Bertoncini’s architectural approach to design.

“Gronda” embodies the radical yet rational spirit of postwar Italian modernism, where modularity, repetition, and industrial materials were used to redefine domestic space. Both sculptural and functional, the system operates simultaneously as mirror, lighting fixture, and wall architecture.
