After researching Yoruba sculptures that represent motherhood and giving, I found a powerful image that inspired this work. I translated it into a painting with a puzzle-like composition, symbolising the complex game she had to play leaving her tribe, marrying into another, and uncovering secrets for the good of her people. This piece brings the series together, reflecting identity, resilience, and the silent strength of sacrifice.
