A napoleon iii style ball-back salon chair in dark-stained carved walnut. The back features a central almond-shaped opening, a cornice adorned with a carved rosette, and a central stretcher with rocaille motifs. The seat rail is embellished with a central shell carving. The four cabriole legs are carved with foliate motifs at their base.
the generously padded, curved seat is upholstered in a cut velvet with a golden beige background and large floral motifs in crimson and olive green, edged with a gold braid.
the piece is sold as is: the fabric shows areas of wear and age consistent with its age, and the wood displays a beautiful natural patina characteristic of the third quarter of the 19th century. No recent restoration has been carried out, thus guaranteeing the authenticity of the overall patina.
