An expressive early 20th-century oil landscape (plein air) painting capturing two traditional thatched-roof rural cottages (chaumieres) surrounded by lush summer greenery. Painted with thick, visible impasto brushstrokes typical of the late Impressionist movement, the artwork displays exceptional handling of natural light and texture. Housed in its highly ornate, heavy hand-carved golden frame showing authentic, age-appropriate timber split lines and historical workshop chisel marks on the reverse.
