The exterior is wrapped in a heavily studded black vulcanized finish, accented by heavy brass-plated corner guards, extensive metal tacking, and robust dual drawbolt latches framing a heavy central brass lock mechanism.

Opening the trunk reveals a remarkably clean, vibrant original light-blue damask floral pattern paper lining. The inside lid features a rare, historically significant 1920s promotional lithograph advertisement from the Citizens State Bank of Goodrich, North Dakota, depicting a scenic Western mountain lake scene with a woman and her horse. With its flat lid and pristine interior, this trunk is perfectly suited for use as a character-rich coffee table, blanket chest, or entryway focal piece.

Dimensions:
32.0"W × 19.0"D × 22.5"H

Condition:
Very good antique condition, especially regarding the interior. The original blue paper lining is exceptionally clean and well-preserved. The historic lithograph is intact with excellent color clarity. The exterior shows an earned, authentic patina with surface scuffs, scratches, and typical wear to the metal corners. The original leather side handles are present but show heavy wear/tearing consistent with age and historic travel. Latches operate smoothly.
