Interlocking planes, elongated curves and divided circles form an imagined architecture. Broad cream passages bring light and openness to the composition, balanced by muted greens, blue-grey, burgundy, dusty pink and warm earth tones. A small red triangle introduces a sharp accent among the larger rounded forms.

The title translates as “Prelude to the Unexpected.” It reflects the changing relationships between shapes: curves appear to continue across adjoining planes, while angular divisions interrupt their rhythm and invite a closer look.

Successive layers of oil paint, applied with palette knife and brush, create a textured surface. Scraping and reworking reveal earlier colours beneath the final layers, bringing depth and variation to the geometric structure.
