The system comprises eight vertical modules: two plain mirror side panels and six central modules that incorporate the ingenious concealed coat rack system characteristic of the model.

Each of the central modules features a pivoting section integrated into the mirror itself. with slight pressure, the upper part pivots inward, revealing a hook that allows the module to be used as a coat rack; once closed, the mechanism visually reintegrates into the mirrored surface. This solution makes the Gronda a clever combination of mirror, storage, and architectural element. Vintage Shop

The narrow vertical panels, framed in black, create a rhythmic composition with a strong graphic presence, highly representative of the experimental nature of Italian design in the 1970s. Installed together, the eight modules create a monumental surface of approximately 200 × 155.5 cm, although their modular design allows for various configurations.

Gronda became one of Luciano Bertoncini's most recognizable designs and won second prize in the Abet Print competition in 1971. During this period, Elco's design program was linked to the art direction of Joe Colombo. Moioli Gallery
