This is a finely crafted antique cloisonné enamel ewer or wine pot, featuring a unique design centered around a figure of Maitreya Buddha (the laughing Buddha). The vessel has a rounded, bulbous body, a conical lid, and an overhead swing handle. The body is richly decorated in cloisonné enamel on a bright yellow ground, adorned with intricate, multi-colored floral and scrolling vine motifs in shades of purple, red, green, blue, and white. A prominent feature is the spout, which is cast in the form of a dark-patinated bronze Buddha head with a joyful expression. The conical lid matches the body's enamel decoration and is topped with a simple finial. The interior of the vessel shows a patinated metal finish, and the underside bears a cast seal mark within a circular enameled medallion.
