This is a matched pair of vibrant cloisonné enamel Qilin statues, mythical hooved creatures revered in traditional Asian culture as symbols of prosperity and good fortune. Each figure is captured in a dynamic, striding pose with its head raised and mouth open, featuring elaborate gilt-bronze heads with prominent horns, teeth, and flowing manes. The bodies are richly decorated with polychrome enamel in a deep blue ground, covered in a detailed scale pattern and embellished with multi-colored scrolling flame and cloud motifs in red, green, and yellow. Each Qilin wears a decorative, patterned saddle blanket and features applied gilt-bronze tails and hooves. The enamel surface is glossy and shows the characteristic fine wirework of the cloisonné technique, with the gilding exhibiting a warm, aged patina.
