Discovered in an estate in Virginia, this regional heritage piece showcases the highly sought-after aesthetic of classic East Coast folk art, favored by interior designers for its striking visual weight and deep tactile quality.

The basket features thick, tightly hand-twisted willow wood rope cords meticulously woven over a sturdy framework, terminating in a rustic, beautifully weathered split-oak wood slat base—a hallmark layout traditionally used across the Appalachian region for harvesting flowers or garden produce without crushing them. A definitive highlight of its artisan craftsmanship is the thick, beautifully arched solid bentwood handle, which is heavily reinforced at the joints with detailed split-oak wrap bindings.

Spanning 13 inches wide, its generous square basin makes a magnificent structural accent. It provides the ultimate statement container for styling an organic modern kitchen counter, anchoring a Southern country entryway console, or storing textiles in a guest suite. See less
