Dating from the 1950s–1960s, this small vintage mirror originally came from a now-closed barbershop in Rome. Its lightweight aluminum construction made it easy for the barber to carry and use, including when working at clients’ homes. The rectangular frame is made of aluminum rod with softly rounded corners, echoed by the gently beveled edges of the mirror itself. The back is finished with a textured cognac-colored faux-leather insert, adding warmth and contrast to the cool metallic frame. The mirror is wonderfully versatile and would be perfect hung on a bathroom wall, incorporated into a gallery-style arrangement of mirrors in different shapes and sizes, or displayed alongside small paintings, prints, and other vintage decorative pieces. We have also styled it as part of a charming vintage-inspired composition featuring old aluminum kitchen molds. The piece is in good original vintage condition and shows signs of use and age, including the characteristic small oxidation spots visible on the mirror surface. Please note that the lightweight fold-out stand is not ideally balanced in relation to the weight of the mirror, making the tabletop support somewhat unstable. For this reason, we recommend using it primarily as a wall-mounted mirror or taking care when displaying it on a tabletop. A charming and versatile piece with an authentic history, combining the functional simplicity of mid-century design with the distinctive character of a vintage Roman barbershop. See less
