solid oak from around 1900.

this sideboard is the upper part
of an antique buffet from
former german silesia. The lower part unfortunately fell victim to the ahr valley flood.

to preserve the upper part in a dignified manner, i lovingly refinished it in cream white and mounted it on iron hairpin legs.

the result is a unique cabinet, a gem for many purposes.

whether in the dining room, living room, lounge, conservatory, etc., it will be a beautiful eye-catcher everywhere.

the cabinet now complements both antique and modern furnishings.

the crowning element was an empty box with a nailed-on lid. It may have once been a secret compartment. I attached two hinges to the lid for opening. This allows the box to be used as ample storage space.

the doors have oval glass panels,
in the center is an open compartment with a
small pedestal below.

on the back is the name
and the friedland warehouse, to which the sideboard was taken. The story of how the cabinet then ended up in ahrweiler/ahrtal could not be determined.

dimensions are:
l 147 x d 34 cm (measured at the top)
without the top edge: l 135 x d 33 cm
height 123 cm, string leg height 40 cm
inside the lid compartment: l 131 x w 29.5 x h 16 cm

condition:

antique and naturally used, but
after restoration, the sideboard has
only minimal signs of wear,
which are normal for such an old piece of furniture.

these are mainly on the lid,
where a few signs of age can still be found, which are not particularly distracting.

overall, the sideboard is in
beautiful condition. See less
