The figure is depicted perched atop a tall, rectangular plinth, with its scaled body and long tail curling down the side. It features a fierce, expressive face with a stylized mane, detailed scales across its body, and clawed feet gripping the plinth. The sculpture is extensively decorated with gold inlay (damascening), with the beast's spine, mane, and decorative accents on the base all highlighted in gold, contrasting with the rich, dark, and green-oxidized bronze surface. The plinth is decorated with a scrolling cloud motif on the front and wave patterns at the base. The underside of the plinth bears a gold-inlaid four-character seal mark in seal script.
