The cylindrical body is carved in high relief with a compelling figural scene depicting a woman's face partially obscured by a folding fan, which she holds up in a gesture reminiscent of theatrical performance. Her elaborate headdress is detailed with intricate floral and bead motifs, while a carved floral spray adorns the right side. A small seal mark is carved into the side near the bottom. The boxwood exhibits a rich, warm amber-brown patina with a smooth, polished finish, and the carving is deep and crisp, highlighting the natural grain of the wood. The base and rim are fitted with dark wood mounts, and the pot rests on small integral feet.
