The figure is captured in a dynamic, crouching posture with its head raised and mouth open, as if roaring. It features prominent curved horns, a dark, flowing mane along its neck, and a ridged spine. The body is smooth and muscular, decorated with elegant, raised scrollwork motifs on its haunches and shoulders, while its tail is a separate, dark-patinated piece with a flame-like, upward-curling design. The piece is extensively gilded, with the gold finish showing a rich, warm luster and natural wear that reveals the bronze beneath in some areas. The underside is hollow, confirming its traditional casting method. A fine example of animalier bronze sculpture, ideal for a collector of Asian antiques or decorative objects.
