This mid-century modern oil painting features a stylized portrait of a female artist, signed "ZIMM 55" in the bottom right corner. The composition depicts a blonde-haired subject with large blue eyes holding a pair of thin paintbrushes or drawing tools. She is dressed in a vibrant cobalt blue smock over a white collared shirt, set against a painterly green background.
The piece features a thoughtful, textured application of oil pigments on canvas. Looking at the construction details on the back, the canvas is secured to a period wooden stretcher with corner key reinforcements and vintage small tacks. The painting is framed in a simple, flat-profile solid oak wood frame that complements its clean mid-century aesthetic.

The canvas panel is tightly stretched and flat. The oil paint surface exhibits several small, scattered white scuffs, light surface abrasions, and minor paint flakes across the lower green field and upper left background (visible in the detailed photos). The original solid oak frame is structurally sound with normal age-related surface scratches and minor wear to the finish. The back features old mounting wire and black tape along the frame edge. less
