Likely constructed in the Raj Period, the table features ornate deep-relief carvings and pierced panels throughout. The top is covered in flowering vines, leaves, and scrolling tendrils containing within an inner and outer octagonal border. The top sits atop a hinged eight-panel base with pierced lattice galleries, each carved with a honeycomb-like pattern with carved rosettes and quatrefoils, framed by columns carved with the same vines and leaves as the top. Below, every other panel is carved with openwork vines over zig-zag and sawtooth borders. The wood is finished with a dark and rich walnut-tone patina. The exceptional piece is crafted in a blend Kashmiri Anglo-Indian and Middle Eastern Moorish/Mughal styles, well-suited for a variety of spaces.
