The distinctive chairs feature an English Regency design with hardwood frames having a latter lacquered finished in a dark ebonzied black tone. The dramatic frames are hand-crafted with curved crests, curved side aprons, and sweeping scrolled arms ending with lion's paw supports. The seats are inset with finely woven lacquered black cane. The chairs sit atop graceful klismos style sabre legs. The frames are sturdy and solid with strong joinery and construction. The latter black lacquered finish has a distressed patina with indentations and small losses as seen in photos. The set is crafted in a British Regency style with a classical Greco-Roman Neoclassical Klismos inspired frame, resulting in a bold sculptural presence, well-suited for a variety of spaces as dining chairs, side chairs, or library chairs. Arms of the chairs measure 28" tall. Sold as a set of four.
