Soft rich black charcoal on newsprint paper.
Black Ponytail, 2024
charcoal on newsprint
24 x 17.5 inches
The charcoal is the blackest on the market. Very difficult to get
and now very expensive. It is sold in large chunks and broken down
by a hammer. It is not formed like the usual charcoal sticks and so to
make thin lines the sharp edge of a chunk is used.
Newsprint is typically used for charcoal because of its smoothness
and low price. The black lines on the off white paper suit each other.
However, the paper is vulnerable to light and must be kept away or it
tans after time. Myself, I prefer it slightly tanned. It's a matter of taste.
Very good condition.
Will be lightly rolled and sent in a cardboard tube.
