A heavy, looping band of crimson crosses a cool ground of pale blue and cream, layered with collage elements, fine drawn lines and a few small red marks near the lower left. The look is fresh, graphic and expressive, balancing calm and energy.
Part of the Rouge Pour Toujours series, this piece is well suited to a bedroom, office or living room. It looks wonderful on its own, or alongside its companions as a trio. This piece will be carefully packed for safe shipping.
Medium: Acrylic paint, collage, paper on canvas, 2026. Dimensions (height x width x depth): 24 × 36 × 1 1/2 in.
Like much of Corcelle's work, the surface is built up in layers of paint, collaged paper, graphite and scratched lines, so the painting reads one way from across the room and another up close. Expect small discoveries of texture, handwriting and color the longer you look, which makes it a work that keeps rewarding everyday viewing.
Christiane Corcelle is a French-American mixed media artist based in Massachusetts. Her intuitive, layered practice spans painting, printmaking, collage, and de-collage, building richly textured surfaces that invite close exploration. Guided by curiosity and openness to process, she transforms color, shape, and found materials into works that are both dynamic and contemplative.
Drawing inspiration from global experiences and cultural textures, Corcelle has exhibited widely across the United States and internationally, including shows in France, Vietnam, China, Cuba, Peru, and Azerbaijan. Her work is represented in public and private collections worldwide, among them the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), the Boston Public Library, the Art Complex Museum, the Contemporary Art Center, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in Hanoi, the Danang Fine Arts Museum, the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, Universidade Feevale in Brazil, Las Casas de las Américas in Cuba, and the Permanent Collection of Château d’Orquevaux in Orquevaux, France.
She also designed 60 Years of North American Prints, the Boston Printmakers’ award-winning publication.
