An elegant Chippendale Revival mahogany occasional table featuring a generously sized round top with a scalloped, raised pie-crust rim. Its warm wood tones are complemented by a turned center pedestal with carved leaf decoration and a graceful tripod base terminating in ball-and-claw feet.
The four-pillar birdcage mechanism allows the tabletop to swivel and tilt upright, offering both practical versatility and an attractive way to display the scalloped top. A brass latch secures the tabletop in its horizontal position.
A handsome accent for a traditional living room, entryway, or sitting area, this table combines decorative carving with a functional, space-saving design.
The table is unmarked. It may date to the late 19th or early 20th century.
