Vintage Japanese Imari Style Porcelain Dobin Teapot with Woven Rattan Handle
Enhance your tabletop collection or curated display shelf with this striking mid-century Japanese porcelain Dobin teapot. Masterfully structured as a premium white porcelain blank in Japan, this piece was exported to Hong Kong where local artisans meticulously hand-decorated it with classic Imari-style motifs.
The cylindrical body features a vibrant, hand-painted tree branch bursting with cherry blossoms alongside blooming chrysanthemums and peonies in iron-red, cobalt blue, and lush green enamels. Fine gold gilt accents trace the florals, anchored by a traditional blue geometric Greek key border at the base.
Comes entirely complete with its authentic, flexible woven rattan/bamboo handle and its highly elusive original inner ceramic tea strainer basket. A beautiful blend of functional mid-century engineering and historic Asian artistry, perfect for Chinoiserie lovers and tea enthusiasts alike.
