A white porcelain face in relief by Cuban ceramicist Manuel Perez, set in a sculpted frame the artist painted himself. Perez never paints his porcelain: every color is the clay itself, down to the red of the lips, which is a naturally red clay sourced from Vietnam. The piece is named "Martica" after the collector's mother.
Signed on the back. Approximately 18 x 18 inches (final measurements to be confirmed). From a private collection; acquired directly from the artist. A companion to the artist's "Las Tres Marias" porcelain series.
