Large 32" Antique Edwardian Gilded Florentine Framed Full-Length Crayon Portrait
An exceptional, large-scale antique Edwardian full-length crayon portrait (circa 1900–1910), magnificently housed in its original, highly ornate gilded plaster-on-wood Florentine frame. The portrait displays incredible detail and classic turn-of-the-century styling, depicting a prominent woman clad in a rich, high-collared satin gown with voluminous sleeves. She stands poised in an elegant architectural interior beside a plush, upholstered parlor chair holding a formal floral hat. The artwork utilizes a highly stylized crayon and charcoal enhancement method popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods.
The true highlight of this piece is its spectacular, multi-tiered gilded Florentine frame, featuring deep, high-relief floral and scroll-work plaster moldings over a heavy wood core.
