This impressive sculpture depicts a Qilin (or Pixiu), a mythical hooved creature from Chinese mythology. The beast is captured in a dynamic, alert stance, featuring a dragon-like head, a magnificent flame-shaped mane, a scaly body, and a raised, curled tail. The surface has a rich, antiqued bronze finish with a naturally weathered patina that highlights the intricate details of its scales and fur.
In Chinese culture, the Qilin is revered as a benevolent guardian, symbolizing prosperity, serenity, and longevity. Weighing over 800 grams, this substantial piece makes a commanding addition to a desk, bookshelf, or entryway console. It serves as both a stunning decorative object and a meaningful Feng Shui symbol.
