Antique Art Deco Jugendstil Brass Jardiniere Planter Cachepot
The piece features a prominent, deeply embossed high-relief band wrapped around the upper collar depicting blooming roses and interconnected foliage. It has a smooth, paneled lower body tapering down to a slightly footed base, flanked by heavy cast ring drop-handles attached to its shoulders.
It is formed out of solid brass, showcasing a naturally aged, darkened patina with oxidation spots and minor dings that are highly expected and characteristic of early 20th-century metalwork.
Known historically as a jardinière or cachepot, these vessels were typically placed on tabletops or plant stands to house indoor potted plants or to act as an ornamental centerpiece bowl.
