The 364 pages feature more than 160 illustrations (including 127 in full color) showcasing Japanese woodblock prints from the Edo period (1615–1868). The major artists of the period are reproduced in this book, and their combined works give us a wonderful insight into life in Japan during that time..

Dr. Stern provides both technical information and extensive individual commentary on each of the prints. The book also includes a complete glossary, bibliography, and index.

The cover is red with white titling and a color illustration; the spine and back cover are white, with titling in black. See less
