A beautiful semi-abstract mid-century modernist piece dated 1952, depicting a medeterrian coastal village with geometrical houses and a lively but rested color palette. Its playful color block character also works well with many contemporary interior design styles, such as whimsical scandinavian, colorful bohemian, dopamine decor and other eclectic decorative interiors.

stig johan ("jonne") erik bergström was born in örnsköldsvik, sweden. He was a well-regarded regional modernist who studied under the famous swedish avant-garde artist isaac grünewald, as well as andré lhote during study trips to paris. His works are represented in several swedish museums.

the painting is in good condition. The frame is in ok stable condition, although somewhat worn. It´s ready to hang but a reframing would do the work justice.
