This particular piece features a beautifully textured, expressive semi-abstract still life with heavy, confident brushstrokes.

larsson spent his days working in the vast forests of västerbotten, but his true passion was creating. He was a self-taught, intuitive artist who captured the spirit of the north, often painting on whatever materials he had on hand, from canvas to old wooden shingles.

the reverse side features a handwritten inscription by the artist, specifying the title: "( gammeldags tvätt-kärl. )", which translates to "old-fashioned washing tubs" or "laundry vessels". The scene depicts traditional wooden tubs used for manual washing in the old rural days.the back also confirms its exact origin and date: "karl larsson, norsjö, okt 1975", meaning it was completed in october 1975 in his home village.
