A rare pair of French Art Deco double-arm wall sconces in turquoise glazed ceramic with hand-applied gold banding. Each sconce is composed of two stylized scrolling arms flanking a central almond-shaped fleuron — a motif characteristic of the French Art Deco decorative vocabulary of the 1920s-1930s. The original stepped brass sockets underscore the elegance of the silhouette. Unsigned, these sconces sit within the tradition of French decorative ceramic production of the interwar period (in the spirit of Vallauris/Saint-Clément workshops). The chromatic contrast between the glossy turquoise glaze and the gilt trim, combined with the strongly graphic double-scroll sculptural form, make this a striking statement piece for an Art Deco interior or an eclectic maximalist scheme. Rewiring recommended prior to use (sold as-is / not electrified — adjust per your own electrical certification).
Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
