The non-porous copper support lends a luminous, jewel-like radiance to the moody, atmospheric sky and dark horizon, characteristic of classical Romanticism.
The painting is beautifully housed in its riginal, hand-carved Florentine-style giltwood frame, featuring deep Baroque scrollwork and an authentic, beautifully aged gold leaf finish. The reverse retains its original protective green felt/baize backing, which sealed the copper plate and protected gallery walls from scratches.
A magnificent standalone piece for a tabletop easel, or a striking focal point for a curated gallery wall. See less
