The artist reduces the birds to pure, flowing line: long legs rise from a domed base and lean into one another, one bird sweeps its wings out wide, the other lets them fall in slow, curling arcs. A warm dark patina with a lightly hammered surface runs across the bodies, lifted by fine golden edges and the two polished-gold beaks. A larger, more exuberant companion to the artist's "Storks": the same pair, long a symbol of fidelity, new life and home, now in full celebration.

At around one and a half times the scale of "Storks", it is a statement piece for a console, sideboard or entrance hall. Cast in bronze using the lost-wax method and mounted on an integrated domed bronze base. Signed by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Made to order: a hand-cast piece rather than a stock object. See less
