Dating to circa 1890 and originating in Paris, this distinctive piece reflects an earlier approach to tea preparation, featuring an integrated warming base designed to heat water over a small flame.

The teapot includes a fitted lid and a lower heating compartment with ventilation holes, which would have accommodated a small fuel source, such as a paraffin or wax-based burner. This arrangement allowed water to be heated before steeping and serving tea directly into a small cup. Signs of use and heating add to its character and offer a glimpse into its original function.

Finished in white with turquoise accents, this unusual French earthenware piece makes an appealing addition to a collection of antique teapots, European ceramics, or historic tea accessories. See less
