This exquisite vintage sculpture depicts Green Tara, the Buddhist goddess of compassion and action, crafted from bronze with a rich, dark patina. She is seated in a relaxed, royal pose (lalitasana) upon a double-lotus base, with her right hand extended in the varada mudra (gesture of generosity) and her left hand holding the stem of a lotus flower that blossoms at her shoulder.
The figure is adorned with an elaborate, jeweled crown and intricate jewelry, inlaid with vibrant turquoise and red gemstones (likely coral or glass) that add splashes of color against the bronze. Her serene face is detailed with a gentle expression. This piece is a fine example of Himalayan Buddhist metalwork and a distinguished addition to any collection of Asian antiques or religious art.
