A wonderfully whimsical pair of vintage Memphis-style salad servers featuring sculptural ceramic handles depicting a man and woman facing one another.
The colorful hand-painted figures feature bold checkerboard patterns, geometric details, spirals, and contrasting shades of turquoise, orange, lime green, purple, and black. The two curved handles nest together to create a playful, coordinated design.
The stainless-look metal serving fork and pierced spoon make these equally appealing as decorative objects or distinctive vintage table accessories.
The ceramic handles exhibit visible glaze crazing, particularly on the male figure, along with a few small areas of finish loss, as photographed. Overall good vintage condition. Original storage pouch included.
Dimensions: Approximately 12.5" and 13.5" long. Ceramic handles approximately 1.5" wide and 0.5" deep.
Style: Memphis, Postmodern, Eclectic
Period: 1980s (attributed)
