It is a group prayer rug with a repeating architectural motif of the mihrab, originally intended for communal prayers. The rug is hand-knotted from macerated cotton on a cotton warp, which gives it a fine, slightly silky sheen and very detailed ornamentation. The density of the weave of around 160,000 knots per square meter is reflected in the high sharpness of the pattern and a refined overall expression. The color scheme is balanced and calm, with a combination of cream, old pink, olive and blue-violet tones. The ornamentation is rich but clear, with a clear rhythm of the individual fields. The rug has been preserved in very good condition, with an even pile, stable edges and original fringes. It is suitable both as a collector's item and as a distinctive and refined element of the interior. Technique: hand-woven Material: macerated cotton on cotton warp Density: approx. 160,000 knots / m² Origin: Kayseri, Turkey Condition: very good Dimensions: length with fringe 138 cm, without fringe 130 cm, width 90.5 cm, thickness 0.3 cm See less
