The rug is made in a calm, earthy color scheme of brown and cream tones, which looks timeless and can easily be integrated into both historical and modern interiors. The central composition with a richly developed medallion is complemented by stylized floral motifs and symbols of happiness, longevity and prosperity, typical of the Chinese decorative tradition. The ornamental border creates a balanced frame of the whole and underlines the representative character of the rug. The rug is hand-knotted from wool on a cotton warp, with a weave density of approximately 90,000 knots per square meter. Thanks to this, it offers a pleasant pile, good durability and at the same time a distinctive pattern of the ornament. The condition corresponds to its age, with a natural patina and no disturbing damage.
