This exquisite collector's teacup (including matching saucer) is from the limited and now rare “Arcadia 2003” edition, one of the most prestigious collaborations between the traditional German porcelain manufacturer and the Italian luxury fashion house.
The set is based on the iconic, sculptural form “Icarus,” designed by the renowned German artist and sculptor Paul Wunderlich. Characteristic of this postmodern design is the striking, wing-like handle that elegantly extends upwards. The "Arcadia" decor captivates with its opulent, baroque aesthetic: A delicate, magnificent pattern of pure gold unfolds against a deep black background, at the center of which sits Versace's iconic Medusa head.
Both pieces bear the original, complete Rosenthal and Versace backstamps, including the decor name. An outstanding statement piece of postmodernism, uniting Italian extravagance and German craftsmanship.
