A beautiful and characterful Model V11 three-seat sofa designed by Illum Wikkelsø and produced by Holger Christiansen in Denmark during the 1960s.
Fully upholstered in black leather, the sofa features a low rectangular body with subtly rounded corners and generous loose cushions. Six sculptural rosewood legs create a refined contrast with the dark upholstery and give the substantial form a lighter appearance.
The soft seat, back and side cushions provide a comfortable and relaxed seating position. Particularly attractive is the naturally developed patina of the leather, with warm brown undertones showing through in places and adding depth and character.
The balanced proportions, soft forms and emphasis on comfort are characteristic of Wikkelsø’s approach to Danish modern design, combining a strong silhouette with a relaxed appearance. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
