An elegant Louis XVI-style mirror, crafted from finely carved and gilded wood, featuring a rich neoclassical ornamental decoration.
The frame, entirely hand-carved, features a refined decoration of plant motifs, festoons, and laurel leaves on the upper section, with a central medallion and side pendants. The gilding lends the piece a particularly striking and decorative presence.
The antique mercury glass, composed of multiple panes, is particularly noteworthy. It displays the natural characteristics of the ancient process: slight irregularities, glazes, and small oxidations that give the surface a charming, authentic, lived-in patina impossible to reproduce in modern mirrors.
A strikingly dramatic mirror, ideal for placing above a fireplace, a console table, a chest of drawers, or any other important piece of furniture, both in classic-style settings and in more contemporary settings where it can become a prominent decorative element.
