The characteristic polyester shell and the slender steel rod base make the Gispen 2215 instantly recognizable. André Cordemeyer designed the chair for Gispen with a clear, functional design in which material and construction play an important role. This version consists of a complete set of six chairs. The molded polyester shells rest on slender frames of solid steel rod. The open space between the shell and the base keeps the design light, while the curved back and seat together form a distinctive silhouette. The chairs were reupholstered approximately eight years ago by the previous owner with high-quality fabric from Kvadrat. Both the upholstery and the foam are still in very neat condition. The polyester shells, metal frames, and nylon floor glides are also exceptionally well preserved. Minor signs of wear consistent with age are present. A beautiful complete set of six original Gispen chairs in which the Dutch post-war design still looks surprisingly contemporary. The chairs are sold exclusively as a set.
